August 3rd - Toshi Center Hotel - Hotel (Included Indigenous Meal)

I woke up around 9 am, we were still on the plane and i don't know what time i fell asleep that last night. I was still exhausted though, traveling is very stressful. I woke up from people serving breakfast that day, apparently everyone else was up but me, i guess i was a heavy sleeper, which usually isn't like me. They only had one choice for breakfast which was some kind of granola bar with some orange juice. I didn't really complain because i was famished anyways. The orange juice was a bit sour and the granola bar was weird for breakfast... I devoured it so i wouldn't have to taste it longer than possible. I then got up to use the bathroom mainly to stretch my feet because I was tired of sitting down for so long. I was sitting on the window seat so i had to get Shamyl and Kush to scoot back so i could get through. When i got back i tried to go back to sleep but i realized i couldn't because since i was at the window seat the sun was shining in my eyes so i just stayed awake. I didn't realize that they had shutters for the windows until after we landed so yea... That's why i didn't close it then. I listened to my music from my Spotify app mainly the rest of the time. I was so tired i didn't feel like talking at all. I don't think anybody else did either because they didn't really talk that much. There wasn't anything to really talk about besides what we were doing that day. We all saw how tired each other was so we decided that since we would arrive at around 2 pm we could just get to our hotel and stay there, figuring out our plan for the next day or something. For lunch they served us some kind of Chinese food even though we were going to Japan.. I thought it was odd but it was good food anyways. Maybe they were trying to get us into the spirit of culture, i don't really know. Shortly after we finished eating we saw the City of Tokyo, there was a murmur within the crowd because we were all eager to get off and explore.

I love landing because of the bump you feel when the tired of the plane hits the ground, it lets you know that you made it safe and you arrived at your destination. We sat there slowly pulling up to our gate/dock thing. As soon as the doors opened we grabbed our bags and rushed out to try to get ahead of the crowd. We sat first class so we didn't have to worry about it that much but still. We walked through the airport trying to read the signs, luckily they had some smaller English translations on the bottom of the signs that we could read. We went to a currency switcher type station to get some Japanese Yen from the US dollars that we had. We navigated our way to the rental car pick up to get our car. The women at the desk matched our name with our car and showed us to our car. We got a Toyota SUV so that we would have enough room for all of us to fit. We popped open the trunk and threw our luggage in there and took of the the Toshi Center Hotel which was were we would be staying for a majority of our time.

We parked our car in a car garage near the hotel and walked over to the Lobbyists' desk and told her our name so she could tell us what floor and what room number we had. That day it was around 80 degrees Fahrenheit so it was a little to hot for my taste so it was nice to walk into an air conditioned hotel. The Lobbyist told us that we were on floor 6 room number 619. We took the elevator up which was pretty fast, this was a nice hotel. Our room was on the right of the hallway and we walked into a beautiful hotel room. It had lots of windows that were big that looked out onto the city, a microwave, refrigerator, a real nice TV, a couch, table, 2 rooms, etc. It was like a nice condo. Nothing could have been better. We unpacked and looked to see if there was a restaurant around that we could eat at. There was one with a Japanese name that i don't know what it was called. We walked over there which was only like 5 mins from where we were staying.
Sushi we acquired at the restaurant we went to.

INDIGENOUS MEAL: We all got some sushi, it was so good! We got 6 rolls for each person. They are shaped like cylinders that are very short, it is wrapped in seaweed with some different kinds of fish and rice or something inside i don't really know what it's made of... You can put some Wasabi on it which is really good! It's very spicy so Zuhare didn't like it but the rest of us did, because of it we drank a lot of water, our poor server kept having to refill his jug of water to refill our cups. We got sushi because it was and still is unique only to Japan because it was introduced by China to Japan but Japan took it a hole lot further. It changed their cuisine entirely with them having 3 meals a day, boiling rice instead of steaming it, etc. Japan started to created farms to produce seaweed and the fish for Sushi. It was well liked in Japan and formed to become more a part of there culture than China. They kind of inherited it from China. Japan still loves "their" dish and has created hundreds of different combinations of ingredients to put on and inside the roll. That's how Sushi came to be unique to Japan and their culture.

After that we went back up to our hotel and basically chilled for the rest of the night, planning what to do the next day and how we would get to the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation the next day. We all fell asleep early on because we were so tired. I hope the next day would be fun!
